Wow what a ride is such a thrill ride from the beginning to the end. I couldn’t help but fall for the characters, the plot and when it hit. It hits so hard and doesn’t let you go until the end. Although the beginning was a bit slow, dragged on for a bit which is great for character development. But when the story at it’s climax it goes full and doesn’t let go. For those of you who want a strong and powerful story, the day after 01 is only just the beginning with episode 0 setting up the foundation of the very story. I wouldn’t miss this for the world and highly recommend it for those who crave more for muv luv and it’s universe. This takes about 8-9 hours to fully read for a quick reader. I left my game running for around 3 hours by accident. The events in Episode 0 are briefly mentioned when they speak of the JFK ship. If you have read it I was expecting Lillia to be here but she never even shows up or is mentioned which I thought was odd. Entire new cast of characters with some returning from other games.
Story wise the game starts off with a BETA attack to introduce all our new characters and set everything up. But after that it is world building and politics. The game ends on a high note and I eagerly look forward to reading the rest. I feel the main character’s internal dialogue isn’t that great but I expect some growth over the series. What I don’t like is he is hailed as this hero by everyone for walking across the US when he didn’t even do it alone. His likely main love interest did it with him but no one seems to care about her. Their relationship is pretty juvenile and in a world where you could horribly die at any moment I’d think you’d get over the typical anime troupes. Just bang it out already you’ve known each other for years. I think this needs a fan retranslation. Way to many “dudes” used for my liking and there is even an Eminem song lyric in here. The text also doesn’t match the voiced content at times. Nothing terrible but it is noticeable. I wouldn’t let it stop me from experiencing this though. There is a fan patch to add back (barely) visible nipples on fortified suits and 2 nude CGs. If you were like me thinking “That’s what they censored?” while playing the second is actually after the credits roll.
