Anno 1800 is a real-time strategy and building video game. It is the seventh installment in the Anno series and features the historical setting from the previous two versions of the game such as Anno 2070 and Anno 2205. The game takes place during the industrial revolution in the 19th century. The game is set in the era of Colonial Trade and features the Victorian Era Architecture while the economic engine is factory labor. Unlike the previous versions of the game, Anno 1800 features the traditional city building ocean combat mechanics. Besides, tourism, blueprinting and the effects of industrialization on island habitats are also made part of the game.

Anno 1800 is set in an old world where the needs of citizens and workers are related to the management of production and supply chain. However, the parallel world also exists which produces products that the people in the old world can purchase. In this way, trade routes can be established. Anno 1800 is a classic city-building simulator game with randomly generated world, maps and trade routes. The Computer Controlled AI opponents will compete on the same map as the player and a military. The game provides you with the chance to study the effects of industrialization on population. Tourism Industry will contribute a lot towards the income of the city.

Anno 1800 features story campaign, a sandbox mode and multiplayer mode. The blueprint feature of the game will allow you to plan an entire city with blueprint buildings without at the spot spending valuable resources on actually constructing the buildings. If you want to construct a building but have limited resources you can place that building on a blueprint for later construction.
