but it’s sailing close to the wind for me. I think playing the sequel first really made me cognisant of this first game’s shortcomings. So either go for the superior sequel or commit to playing both in order, I guess. It’s much shorter and more basic than the sequel, which I played through first, but it’s still fairly enjoyable. The final fight was much too easy with all upgrades though. I wish the games had a bit more in terms of cinematics, especially with the endings, which are a bit lacking. It gets a thumbs up from me, but if you want to skip this one and go for the sequel, you’re not missing out on much.

All of these issues were fixed, and then some, by the second game. As you descend further and further, enemies get tougher and tougher. Fret not, the powers you’ll be getting will end up outmatching the difficulty of the game. The concept is simple; mine minerals that you exchange to Dorothy for gold and experience, when you level up you unlock more upgrades to buy in the shop and more shops… Some minerals are worthless and some would net you a hefty price; however, the shiny, pricey ones are always guarded into a difficult room.
