I found this game during one of the most isolated times in my life so I really appreciate this game being the suspension of reality that I needed. I am also a big studio Ghibli fan so the art style was very appealing.
The use of magical and physical attacks makes for a wide variety of gaming experiences suited to all fighting styles. Collecting many creatures is also loads of fun. The game now had random encounters, and you have monster that you can level, you can get new monsters from killing the random encounter. It feels like a soft version of Pokemon. And you will probably stick with your team until the end of the game and only change it, if you try to do optional post game content.
The skill system is worse than FF13 in my opinion you lose almost all control of your Crystarium, you can go really deep with the new one but you need Excel spreadsheets and you can easily finish the game with just levelling up your most played class section. Even with these that might give the impression that the game is outdated and not worth the trouble of playing, I want you to know that it absolutely is. At first, the premise may seem head scratching, and you might have to ponder for a while on some parts, but it is worth the time to do so. I highly recommend going into this game knowing as little as possible, it makes the experience that much more special. Also, you don’t have to click to move around, you can use the arrow keys. Saves so much time later on.
