I’m a member of a table tennis club, so I play (somewhat) competitively. This is surprisingly realistic. Not all of the shots I use in real life work (backhand top cut is no go), but enough do. Be nice if the backspin serve was a bit more accurate. It even has a feature to simulate a custom bat, but it has limits. I turned everything all the way up, and it’s still not as responsive as my Joola. This is very fun to play.

And it is almost exactly like it is in real life. I go on the «table tennis sport» and i feel like this game can be my training. Its not overpay. I have now learned a new serve that i use irl. Physics are great, you can curve the ball exactly like in real life. You can play against a AI so you dont need friends to play this game. Its ranked so you can meet and play with other people online. It’s a bit confusing to begin with, you’ll probably need to edit table setting and then use the ‘grab’ control to bring the table close enough to you before you can begin.

but once you’re underway it’s a blast. The only critique is the multiplayer, though that’s just the nature of the beast. With anything more than 60 ping to your partner unfortunately the quality just isn’t there to have the same level of a match you get out of singleplayer. That being said it’s still fun to play with your buddies, but at a competitive level I’d only recommend if your P2P ping with your friends is below 60. As an intermediate ping pong player, this team deserves an insane amount of praise. I am beyond thrilled.
