He then also killed the chinchilla. He brings the lady back to our single-room house and tries to treat her leaking facehole. His medical skills are lacking. Where is the young man? He was off mining some steel. Not that he could’ve helped, because he can’t shoot and his medical skills are also lacking. He enters the house just in time to see the love of his live die from acute lead poisoning to the face. He snaps. Going into a rage, he attacks the old man. The old man goes down after being stabbed a bunch, but the dog…

He saves the old man. He takes down the young man and kills him, and sits by his owner. His owner is slowly bleeding out (You can have people self-treat wounds, but I did not know it at the time). He is unconscious, but seems to be stable. Until he gets an infection. The infection eventually kills him. He never regained consciousness. My colony failed. The End. To this day (3500+ hours later) whenever I see a dog, I assume it is The Dog. Sometimes he has found a new handler, sometimes the new handler is evil and The Dog pays the prices. Other times The Dog has returned to the wild. That’s when I am happiest to see him.

The depth of the stories it can create and the general mechanics are utterly amazing. This one keeps me coming back to make new stories.

With nearly 1800 hours in this game, I feel I now have a good understanding of a pawns life. Born into war torn worlds, or simply a frozen nugget awaiting to be defrosted, RimWorld is especially hostile. Bandits, mad animals, giant robots and insects all await your fresh little optimistic pawns, right down to a damn meteor falling out of the heavens just to crush Steve. Well, what about Larry and Susan? Larrys in a life or death battle with the plague, and Susan, well Susans an idiot. Incapable of skilled labor. She picks things up, and puts them down.
