$20 well spent. After playing Boneworks (great game btw) I wasn’t sure if melee combat could be done well with current VR technology. Blade and Sorcery proved me wrong. I really like this game. When I first booted it up, I spent a good 15 minutes just fooling around in the home area. The magic is intuitive, especially the telekinesis. Due to their momentum, it feels like things have weight. Most of the maps feature arena combat where you fight waves of enemies, but the Greenland map is more of a dungeon crawler. I very much enjoy the Greenland map. This game has glitches, some of them game breaking, but this can be forgiven as it is an early access indie game and there is no progress to lose if you need to restart the game.
I am looking forward to what the devs add next.You can grab someones head, stab them repeatedly while staring your next opponent straight in the eyes. Then drop the corpse, walk right up to them and grab their wrist as they swing at you, forcing them to chop their own head off. Fun in the most comical of senses, there’s absolutely 0% realism to this game and it’s just fun to scream at people as you chop them to bits then inevitably smack your hand really hard into the table next to you. The rapier and short sword are my favorite. The rapier pokes holes in the unprotected parts of the enemy and the short sword is heavy enough to hack off legs and arms. Highly recommend this game. Its a great time. The bow and arrow are fun too. Oh, and throwing people off cliffs is cool. The magic isn’t all that satisfying.
