Walk the dreadful lands of Shyish, collect lost pieces of Sigmarite and Storm Scrolls, and fight your way through hordes of enemies with the iconic weapons of a Lord-Arcanum and powerful magic at your disposal. So far so good! It’s a really great game with amazing graphics which is surprising for me because I’m playing on 1060 and Quest 2 via Oculus Link. Combat is really fun with all of available spells and it’s hard not to smile while playing.
One of strong sides of this game is immersion – playing as Lord-Arcanum brings joy and if it wasn’t for the headset on my head I’d be fully submerged in this world. The game had an issue with Virtual Desktop at the first few hours of release. I shared the issue with the developers immediately. Somehow, they weren’t drunk on champagne during their release day party, and instead fixed the issue WITHIN A FEW HOURS!
In the meantime, I was already enjoying the game through my less favorite way: Air Link. Because of this, I know this game deserves a thumbs up! The controls are intuitive, you feel like a beast the undead should fear, and many of the environments are beautiful and you should take the time to look around and take it in. I wasn’t able to complete a quest that told me to talk to a person (I think it was Patrea or something) because I walked to that person and then I walked away too quickly so I had to restart the game and then walk to that person again and make sure that I don’t walk away too quickly.
It’s also hard sometimes to know where to walk to complete quests, I felt like I was searching everywhere but still no progress, maybe this was another scenario where I had to restart the game. Some spells are also a bit op, I don’t know what the spell is called but the spell you make with the long staff and hold trigger while swinging to the right. It kills everything really quickly so I think reducing the damage of that spell would help or something.
